In Japan, there are several types of noodles that are made with wheat flour, salt, and water. Somen noodles are less than 1.3mm in diameter, and the thicker, hiyamugi noodles are a diameter of 1.3mm or more, and less than 1.7mm. Noodles that have a thickness of 1.7mm or more are classified as udon. In particular, somen and hiyamugi are standard meals for the summer in Japan. We would like to introduce you to Toyama Prefecture’s “hand-stretched somen noodles,” which are made by being stretched by hand over and over again, with no use of knives in the process. It may look like candy, but the chewy, smooth, and soft texture is what makes them different from pasta or Chinese noodles. The flower petal decorations included in the product are also edible, as they are made with the same ingredients as the somen. Please boil them together to consume. After boiling the somen in plenty of hot water for 7-8 minutes, rinse with cold water to cool. In the summer, you can enjoy somen by putting it in cold water with ice, and in the winter, you can put the somen in a warm broth and enjoy them as hot noodles. If you are allergic to wheat, please be careful. This product does not contain preservatives. Somen noodles are dried noodles, so they can be stored at room temperature. Please store them in a well-ventilated place, and beware of mold in places with high humidity.
